Fire pits are allowed in Ogden City, and must be constantly attended with an extinguishing source immediately available, such as a portable fire extinguisher, dirt, sand, water barrel, or garden hose.
The following are guidelines to follow for fire pits in Ogden City.
- There must be a minimum distance of 25 feet from any structure.
- The pile size must be 3 feet or less in diameter and 2 feet or less in height.
- The pits can only be used for recreational use and burning of waste material is prohibited.
- Burning yard debris is prohibited except during the permitted (burn permits) open burn season.
