On Tuesday, June 17, the Ogden City Council voted to adopt the City’s annual budget for Fiscal Year 2026 with no increase in property taxes. The adopted budget totals $289.8 million, representing a 7.81% increase over the previous fiscal year.
Throughout this year’s budget process, several opportunities for public input were provided, including the city’s first-ever open house featuring department directors. The Final Budget is the result of a collaborative effort between Council Members, administration, department directors, and city staff.
“As a Council, we’re proud to adopt a budget that maintains quality city services without raising property taxes,” Council Chair Marcia White said. “This reflects our continued commitment to fiscal responsibility while ensuring Ogden residents benefit from reliable, professional service from dedicated city employees.”
A primary focus of this year’s budget was to continue offering competitive wages to city employees. The FY26 Budget includes a 2.97% cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) for all employees. Additionally, sworn public safety employees in the Fire and Police departments will receive a 4% step increase on their employment anniversary. Non-sworn employees can receive up to a 2% merit increase.
"I committed to thoroughly reviewing and refining the city’s budget to better align with the needs, services, and priorities of my administration, and we accomplished this without raising taxes,” Ogden Mayor Ben Nadolski said. “I am committed to continually transitioning our administration and financial planning toward greater efficiency, improved service delivery, and measurable results.”
The FY26 Budget funds 42 Capital Improvement Projects, including street maintenance, park improvements, and the newly rebuilt Marshall N. White Community Center. Other highlights include airport terminal upgrades, Valley Drive improvements, and new pickleball courts at Lester Park.
Council members, acting as Redevelopment Agency (RDA) board members and Municipal Building Authority (MBA) trustees, adopted the Fiscal Year 2026 RDA Budget and Fiscal Year 2026 MBA Budget on June 10, 2025. The City’s fiscal year begins July 1 and ends on June 30.
